Well, if you can't believe it...it's October again! And our bi-annual visit for the Dysphagia (feeding) clinic happened yesterday. We didn't have any high hopes of having Charlotte's G-tube removed since we inquired with the Dietitian in late August about what her fluid intake needed to be for that to happen. Especially since it's changed since Charlotte's gained weight! (good for you sweetheart! She's now about 25 lbs). Ideally, 37 oz for the day in fluids would be the best. But with some compromise, the dietitian said about 75% of the 37 oz. would be okay. So, about 25 oz or so/day is what we're aiming at. So well, the visit was good. Dr. O'Gorman was still pleased at the variety and quantity that Charlotte is consuming with foods and is extremely pleased with the weight gain! So 2 of 3 criterias are being met. Just the fluid intake is now what we are trying to work on. We can't risk Charlotte's life, etc. and take it out now. But she'll get there. We just have to be in her face more with the fluids. She can seriously consume the milk. It's just why drink it when Curious George is on? he he.

Good luck with this! I really hope that things pick up and that Charlotte can have the tube removed!
I saw a Curious George sippy cup someplace... I can't remember where though! Maybe HE could help her drink if he was on the cup!!!
Way to go Charlotte! She is making awesome progress - you guys must be so proud.Can't believe how grown up she's gotten...and that she's turning 3 soon!!! Wish we could all be there to celebrate.

I'm glad she's doing so well! I totally forgot you guys were down here yesterday! I was gonna try to meet up with you and forgot all about it! yay for Charlotte! We sure love her!
Wonderful news :) She'll do it all in her time. Yeah, who wants to drink and watch Curious George at the same time? Gotta focus on the Monkey that's for sure. :)
