Happy 33rd birthday, Wade!!

Wade turned 33 on May 20th. I can't believe he's so old!!! HA HA HA. Jk. All I know is that next year, that'll be me and I don't like it. It's one year closer to 40 and that's CRAZY. But I'm trying to think that the 30's are the new 20's...Oprah would agree, right? lol.

We went out for lunch to Panda Express. When Wade got off of work, he opened his presents. We gave him 2 dvds : Invictus, and a combo dvd Romancing the Stone and The Jewel of the Nile, he got another dutch oven and a lime juicer. Exciting!!! he he. Received some money from my parents which he'll splurge on something tool-like I'm sure and his parents gave him Scrabble...chocolate edition. That's right. And at the end you get to eat all the chocolate!! Well, that's if he wins. I'm going to win, that's for sure. ;) And some beautiful, Kiwiana style house numbers. We're trying to think of the most perfect spot for them. They're really beautiful.

Then we had a yummy homemade dinner! He wanted ribs and so that's what we had. I even ate one. It was pretty good. Jack devoured 2 or 3?? but had a hard time cause the bbq sauce was a tad spicy. He sure is Wade's kid. That's for sure.

And then we had yummy birthday cake and ice cream :)

Mesmerized by the candles...I love Jack's expression!!

This wasn't even a pose for Wade! ha ha. Just fyi, this is the proper stance and expression for blowing out candles. Pinky and all...Better leverage so you can blow out 5 candles.

The kids went to bed waaaay too late for us to watch one of his new movies so we watched one of our favorite t.v. shows that we recorded, the Mentalist. Have you seen it??? I HEART IT!!! It's awesome. (He's an Aussie too...)

It was a simple day. And sometimes I feel bad when his birthday isn't full on exciting, do a lot of stuff but then we were just together as a family. And that is, my friend, the best thing ever.

Thanks Grandma!

My mom came out to help in the beginning of May when Wade went back to work. It was such a relief to have her here. She helped me recover by letting me rest, she watched the kids/played with the kids, fed Kate (bottle of course...he he) when I was out running errands, fixed us yummy dinners, cleaned, did the laundry and babysat so Wade and I could have a couple of late night dates to Walmart and long conversations about things! She even stayed an extra day (not cheap to do) because I ended up with an infection and was in bed for 2 days because of it.
I had the best time and miss her dearly. I wish my mom and dad lived closer to me but it makes seeing them so much sweeter. I love you, Mom!! I miss you a lot and THANK YOU for all you've done for me. I can't wait for you to come out again.
Awwwwww

Jack and Charlotte are SO good to Kate. Loves to give her kisses and hugs and want to hold her all the time.

I tried having a photoshoot with Kate yesterday. Yeah, didn't go too well. This is the best solo picture of her. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this outfit. Crystal and Lian bought it for Kate. They got it from the Pumpkin Patch. I just love that store. I wish they had it here...I don't even think they have it in America. :( but maybe one day... But even though she's looking to the right, I still think this is a cute picture. She's going bald :( Seriously. Just like Jack! But every time I give her a bath, I just gently wash her hair with my fingers. But oh no! Has to come out. I guess I figured it had a chance of staying since Charlotte's never fell out and thought maybe it was just a boy's thing for hair to come out. So this adorable (thanks Jean!!) headband covers her baldness. he he. She's still gorgeous though.

Here's what Kate is doing now: Eating. She's loving her food! We went to the dr. for her two week visit last week and she gained 1 1/2 lbs. YEP! The dr. was like, well, we're not going to put a 2 week old on a diet but just make sure she's hungry when she's hungry and to distract her with a dummy (binky) or the swing, etc. ha ha ha. I thought that was funny. I'm trying to feed her when she is truly hungry. And I dont' know...she's hungry a lot! And she doesn't care for a dummy but we still try and get her to use it and she's accepting it more. It's just to calm her down if she's not hungry or too fussy. It's not like I want her to become addicted to it. Just want it to be a soothing thing (besides, some experts say it helps prevent SIDS).

But Kate LOVES her swing and bouncer. It's been really hard keeping her asleep once she's fallen asleep in our arms and we put her down. So if all else fails, those little miracle toys are the best. She also loves/hates the carseat. As long as we're moving. Charlotte was like that too. UGH.

She smiled at 15 days. And NO, it's not gas. I think I know when she's smiling with gas. ;) She not only smiled but opened her mouth and stuck her tongue out (well, not like a cat, those smiles that are wide open mouth and the tongue sort of sticks out...). So yeah, she's smiling. It hasn't been consistent but I've been getting her to smile a lot since then. I ROCK.

She is a cuddly baby. LOVES to be held. I think I jinxed myself when I was so upset Jack isn't/wasn't too cuddly. But really, I don't mind. I love it. It's just hard to deal with two kids fighting and your baby wants a snuggle. Good thing Wade's here to help.
She really is a sweet girl.

Silly boy!

Wade gave Jack a bath the other night...but here's the story from Wade's email:

"Gave Jack a bath tonight. Got him out, dried him off, lotioned him up,
put on his diaper. All the while he was screaming that he wanted to
get back in the bath. It turned into a full on tantrum so I shut his
bedroom door and walked off to let him cool off. I pulled the plug on
the bath then went to help with Charlotte. Next I hear splashing. The
little backside ran and got back in the bath."

Ha ha ha ha!!! I love it!!! I was laughing so hard. I didn't see any of it but I certainly heard the splashing from Jack and the curses from Wade. he he. It was funny :)

First Bath

We gave Kate her first bath last week and she did not like it! But of course it's because I couldn't get her umbilical cord wet so I kept the water below that so she was freezing. We gave her her second bath on Saturday night and put a warm washcloth on her and filled the tub up more and she LOVED it. So we had to torture her that first time but she was so fresh and so clean clean!

Once she was done with her bath, we put her in this cute yellow outfit. This was WADE'S take home outfit (Right, Ma??) when he was born and I always put the kids in it til they grow out of it. A little baby tradition :)

I hope this isn't a sign...ha ha

I took a shower a few days ago and when I got out, this is what I found Jack doing...playing with my mascara! It made me laugh and then I hurried and rinsed it off. Phew. Thank goodness for Mary Kay Eye Makeup remover. That stuff is the bomb.com.
I have a cheesy grin in here...what's up with that??? Ignore that...

This is my wonderful Aunt Jean! She brought my mom up from Layton on Thursday. We had a wonderful short visit with her. She makes us laugh so much! you should see her and my mom together. Bunch of crazy ladies! in a good way of course...they make you laugh so hard. :) Thanks, Jean! I'm so happy you got to meet Kate.

I took some photos today. Haven't been taking them lately since I don't have time/hands to do it when Kate's awake and also because she's been sleeping a lot. But she's becoming more and more awake these last few days and thought today would be perfect. I'm not a great photographer but am trying! She's a good girl. Not too fussy, loves to be held...LOVES it, and is such a joy to be around. I'm one lucky momma! The kids love her more and more each day too :) We are doing so well too....oh who am I kidding! Having 3 kids is TOUGH. I've heard this is the hardest transition and believe me, so far it IS. And it's not Kate...Jack is just his usual curious little self but Charlotte's been having a hard time adjusting and it's nothing towards Kate at all. It's being toward us. And it's only bad, really, when she's bored (well, I'm hoping it's only bad when she's bored but she must be bored A LOT). But anywho, it has been hard but I wouldn't trade it for anything. I love all three of these goobers and I hope they know it.
