Diaper obsession.

So Charlotte seems to have this obsession about diapers. She tells people through sign and verbally about the size 3 diaper that Jack wears and the size 5 diaper that she wears. I always try and have her get me diapers when I need to change the kids because she loves getting them for me SO MUCH. There are two different designs for each size. And she makes sure she gets her favorite ones every time. The one with Mickey and Minnie reading a book for Jack and the one were they're holding balloons for Charlotte.
Well, this past weekend we decided to go a step up in size for Charlotte. We weren't sure about how she was going to react to the new diapers. Don't worry. She was freaking out with excitement. She wanted me to open the box when she saw them in her room. And lately she can't decide which new design she wants now...the one with balloons (new scene) or the one where Mickey and Minnie are riding bikes. She pulled down her shorts yesterday too and laid down to check out the new undies. She's a crack up!
Not sure what year this is but I think I may be around 18months or older??

Easter time...around 1979?
I stole these photos from my mom's blog. Just made me laugh.

Happy 32nd Birthday, Wade.

Yesterday, May 20th, was Wade's birthday! I hope he had a wonderful day because the kids and I had a great time. We had to drop him off at work (usually he gets a ride into work but his ride couldn't do it) which was good! We stopped by Sam's Club so he could get a cake to share with everyone for breakfast. I know, cake for breakfast! It's because the new insurance health challenge says you have to eat a healthy lunch and so they had to find an alternative meal to eat the cake. Then the kids and I came back for lunch. Wade requested Quiznos subs (by the way, I newly discovered this a few months back. I LOVE IT!!! Better than subway) with chips and dip. YUM! Then after school we ate chocolate dipped strawberries, went to Mandarin Garden for dinner and a few hours after that ate Trifle and Chocolate cake with raspberry filling with vanilla ice-cream. Talk about a food heaven. Kinda nice when every other day is dieting! I got Wade a tie, shoes and shirt (he picked out), and made him a trifle from the new trifle bowl! Jack gave him gourmet M&Ms (raspberry almond), and Haagan Daaz ice cream bars from Charlotte. Here are some classic pictures of Wade:

Notice the lovely pair of ...ahem...on the clothesline to the right?
; D

Apparently this is the first day of school for Wade. LOVE THE GUMBOOTS.

Uncle Gary and Wade.

Isn't he just SO CUTE!!!!

Wade's birthday cake...it was so hot outside that when I came back in the afternoon (was gone all day) those pretty chocolate decorations had melted! I was sooooooooooo upset. So I made new ones and didn't put them on until a few min. before we sang happy birthday. And they were started to melt again within those minutes! Thankfully, there's a picture of them!

Jack LOVES chocolate. Naughty to give him chocolate but we do it anyway. True Kiwi. Charlotte was in bed already so we had birthday cake and ice-cream AND trifle with Jack!! YUMMMM!!

The day's delicious treats consisted of chocolate dipped strawberries...my intent wasn't to make them look pretty...just to put as much chocolate on as possible! : )

Good blowing out candle form, Wade. he he

Wade loved his traditional trifle. Haven't had it since we were in New Zealand. Wade's mum makes it and had to follow her instructions exactly!

Sunday picnic

Tasting the deliciously cooked marshmallow.

She just sat and watched the whole time!

Good job, Wade.

Hotdogs taste better with your eyes closed.

Awww, the beautiful bi-product free Hotdogs!

On Sunday we decided to have a simple dinner. Hotdogs and roasted marshmallows! he he. We think hot dogs are kinda gross but we found Hebrew National hotdogs (yep, a Jewish hotdog) made with no bi-products (their slogan is "no ifs, ands or butts about it!"). Tastes just like a hotdog and no dry heaving involved. Wade cooked them in the firepit we constructed 18 months ago. It was so fun. Had to have a picnic outside too because it was such a nice day. Jack was sleeping during all this but that's okay. We ate his share. Charlotte was just mesmerized by the fire. She sat on that blanket the WHOLE time! She thought she was the cat's meow. And well, let's face it, she is.

So, I was extra early for church today!! It was amazing. I know. So I took some pictures of the kids. And then when Wade came home, had him take some pictures of me and the kids. Now you can see my shoes. I felt stupid trying to take a picture of my dress so just click here for the online picture! But the woman is tall and it isn't that short on me....

Happy 8th Anniversary

Our friends, Jen and Gary Tippets, have their anniversary today. I just wanted to wish them a happy day. They are soooo awesome. We love them so much. We're so thankful for them!!! We've known them since we were married. Jen was on an archaeology dig with us. And of course met Gary through her. ha ha. Anyway. We love you guys. Have a happy day!!

Happy Mother's Day to ME!

Can I say spoiled? Wade seriously spoils me. I can't believe how lucky I am. He made me breakfast! I had wanted French Toast. He makes the best French Toast. But before this, he ran up to his seminary classroom 15 min. away to get a few things for my Sunday YWs lesson. Isn't he amazing to do that? He said he'd do it the night before but it was 1am and I didn't want him out at night that late. I was worried something might happen to him! He had set out a basket full of my most favorite foods in the morning! And also the kids each gave me a red rose and so did Wade. I loved it!!! I also chose to get THE cutest pair of red and white polka dot wedge shoes!! SERIOUSLY HOT! And a beautiful white wrap dress with ruffles on the hem. I forgot to take a picture AGAIN. But maybe this sunday I'll remember!!! Thanks for my dress and Shoes, Wade. I LOVE THEM! Rachel was here for part of mother's day and she helped me with the kids before church. We got to church and of course Charlotte was just loving Rachel there and Jack loved being held by her. The Primary children went up to sing for Mother's Day and it was Charlotte's first time. She was a little perplexed at the reason why all these kids go up and face everyone. Kinda funny. She stood right in front of me on the stand. You could only see her head. Then all of a sudden she lifts her doll up. All you could see was Charlotte's head and her doll's head. Then she thought everyone should see her doll so she sat it on the wall ledge in front of her. I was laughing so hard. It was SO FUNNY! I loved it. All these little things make me so happy. Got a bar of chocolate from the ward too. Mmmm. Charlotte ate most of it. She is a chocolate nut. Okay, I know. This is getting long! Oh well. It was MY DAY! Have to write about it. Anywho, came home. Wade was home a short while later and we had made Kecia's cheeseball for a change. It was SO delicious!!! I LOVED IT! We then went on a drive cause it was so nice and Charlotte was driving me up the wall (no pun there). Came back, had dinner and then had CHEESECAKE! It was SOOOOOOOOOO delicious. Wade made it. I wanted a plain one so we could put chocolate, caramel sauce and nuts on it!!! IT was AWESOME! I had a wonderful day. But it's because Wade and the kids made it wonderful.

Rachel came!!

I have to brag...I made those bows SPECIFICALLY for the dress! ha ha. I know I know, I'm goooooooood. ha ha ha.

Aunt Rachel came to visit for the weekend! I love it when family comes : D She is my closest sibling, only 6 hrs away! It was a short visit but am grateful she came. I was really really sad when she left. Wish she stayed a lot longer. We had so much fun. Charlotte just clung to Rachel. Wanted to hold her hand everywhere, have her come with her, just LOVED her. It was so neat to see that. And Jack of course couldn't get enough of all the attention she gave! He just thought she was awesome. Thanks, Rachel. We love you and are so grateful you came! I love your new hair style...even if I can't curl your hair very well. I thought it looked awesome!! You're so beautiful!!!

Mothers

Sunday is Mother's Day. A time to honor and remember our Mother's. I love my mom with all my heart. She is so wonderful and can't think of anyone else as my Mom. I'm so thankful for her and hope that I can someday turn out half as wonderful as she is. The only flaw? You live too far away from us! You inspire me to be a better person. Thank you, Mom! I love you!
This video of Charlotte makes my heart melt. I can't help but feel so proud of Charlotte. It's just one word but I LOVE it and I smile every time I hear her say it. Of course she is just cute and the rest of the video is fun!

Cinco de Mayo!

Happy cinco de Mayo! Ha ha. Doesn't look like much of a party but it was still fun. We had a Mexican pasta salad, dip (artichokes, garlic and jalapeno) and crakers and virgin Strawberry Daquiri's (I thought of Margaritas but the strawberry sounded better!). We were going to have Chicken Fajitas but decided that was too much food. And that was our party. We thought about watching Three Amigos but it just got to be too late with the kids. Maybe each year it will become more and more exciting! ha ha

New set of wheels...

Jack is holding a spoon. Wade's mum suggested we try running it softly on his teeth so he can feel and hear it. He loves when we do it. It was a fun suggestion, thanks ma!

We went and purchased a walker the other day for Jack. Charlotte has had so
much success with one that we decided it would be fun and functional for Jack! Charlotte loves to push Jack around and also her dolly...go figure! I thought this was the coolest looking thing ever! It even has a leather (looks like one at least...he he) hot rod seat! And plus it can become a bouncer...just lock it up so it doesn't move! So that's awesome too! I wish I had one for me. Can you imagine a big adult walking around the house like that? ha ha.

Took Jack in for his well child visit yesterday! He's still growing! ha ha. He weighs exactly 18 pounds (growth chart: 10%) and is 27 1/4" long (77%). He's enjoying the foods we give him, waves to you, has a tooth upstairs, one downstairs (and grinds them!!! ahhhh), says mama, dada and lots of other sounds. Loves to roll. Army crawls. Gives the best smiles ever! He really is such a joy to be around. I love him soooooooo much!
