Dysphagia Update!

Well, we went to Primary Children's for the Dysphagia clinic (feeding). They were very happy with her progress in eating. Dr. O'Gorman was wanting to take the tube out that day except for the fact she had lost 2 pounds since the last visit and her fluid intake was low. So now, we are back on heavy whipping cream in the diet. She needs that 4 times a day. She gets one oz. (30mls.) every meal and snack. We are to do a bit more with adding another feed before bedtime (or if we can squeeze one in during the day) but we are worried her appetite for eating solids is going to go down. So after she gets used to the cream in the diet, we'll add in the extra fluids she needs. But we went to the dr. yesterday to get a prescription for her very own walker and they weighed her (granted that scales are all different) but she officially weighs 22 lbs (9.99kg) now! She's gained 3 oz. in less than a week. So maybe the cream is already making a difference! Our next appt. with dysphagia at primary's is in the beginning of October. If all goes well, we can remove the tube. We have a big goal but it can be done! Hooray for Charlotte's progress. Slow and steady but it's progress.
