Last year, Charlotte hated the swing. Would cry every time we got on it. I think it has to do with her balance issues but we've been working with the occupational therapist on swings in their therapy gym and she LOVES to swing. So we took her to the park yesterday to see if she would enjoy the outside park setting. She had a fanastic time. She was laughing and loving every minute of it!

Isn't she just so cute?! I just love her so much!

30th Birthday!

Wade made a yummy cheesecake for my birthday!!! Too bad all my friends are in Utah County and couldn't share.

Lovely picture.

I had a great day for my birthday...despite the number hanging over it. It definitely was a psychological obstacle for me but I am embracing it. I think....I keep looking in the mirror and see how old I'm getting but I feel young. I will always picture in my head that I'm 23 or 24 years old. Sad. I guess that's life and I should embrace it. One day....one day. ha ha. No, I will get over it. It's just a number. Anyway, we had a great day, went to Baby Animal days and went to a restaurant in Ogden. Some of our closest friends came up (long drive!) and celebrated up there with us. So nice of them! It was a great day. The best part was being with Wade and Charlotte.

Here are the little duckies!

She looks like she's squishing the poor duckling.

Alright, not the greatest photography but she loved holding the duckling too! What a great day.

I couldn't get the whole pig in the shot since it was so packed but the pig was her favorite thing to pet!

Gentle....gentle....that's what Wade is saying!

Charlotte was holding a little turtle in this picture...

As soon as it started to move she dumped it into Wade's hands. She's a funny girl.

She is looking at all the hens/chickens here.

This is a huge bunny! Charlotte loved petting it. You can tell in the next picture.

She tried to pet some of the animals softly...poor animals! Enduring torture all day.

So her eyes are closed, oh well! This was at Baby Animal Days in Logan. So cute! Charlotte had a great time and loved touching all the animals. We did this on my birthday because I thought Charlotte would have a great time.

I LOVE this picture! This was a little horse. (Shetland pony??) She was having such a fun time with them!

So many kids were coming up to the animals and got in the way so some of these pictures aren't the best since I had to take them quickly. But it is still fun to see her reaction!

Dysphagia Update!

Well, we went to Primary Children's for the Dysphagia clinic (feeding). They were very happy with her progress in eating. Dr. O'Gorman was wanting to take the tube out that day except for the fact she had lost 2 pounds since the last visit and her fluid intake was low. So now, we are back on heavy whipping cream in the diet. She needs that 4 times a day. She gets one oz. (30mls.) every meal and snack. We are to do a bit more with adding another feed before bedtime (or if we can squeeze one in during the day) but we are worried her appetite for eating solids is going to go down. So after she gets used to the cream in the diet, we'll add in the extra fluids she needs. But we went to the dr. yesterday to get a prescription for her very own walker and they weighed her (granted that scales are all different) but she officially weighs 22 lbs (9.99kg) now! She's gained 3 oz. in less than a week. So maybe the cream is already making a difference! Our next appt. with dysphagia at primary's is in the beginning of October. If all goes well, we can remove the tube. We have a big goal but it can be done! Hooray for Charlotte's progress. Slow and steady but it's progress.

Okay, so I've updated the blog and there are tons there! I hope you enjoy it. Just wanted to share with you about how Charlotte is progressing. She now likes to get onto all fours....a huge obstacle for her. So that is just great news for her because it helps in gaining her balance and of course helping her walk. She just needs encouragement to know how to move her hands and legs to start crawling. But she looks so cute just being on all fours! Her eating is amazing, like I've said before. Her favorite things to eat are chocolate, ice cream, pretzels and of course french fries! Although, she doesn't get to eat them all the time. She can eat chicken now, as long as it is soft. We are trying to get her to eat new foods all the time (as long as it isn't a difficult thing to eat, like uncooked carrots) but she LOVES to eat. This is a huge component for those with feeding issues. So we're so blessed she loves to eat, even if she doesn't eat as fast as a regular toddler. She does though eat more of a variety than an average toddler and is getting pretty close to eating the same amount as one. BUT She still needs work with the volume of drinking but her technique is really good. I think the big issue isn't her eating but her weight. She needs to gain weight. She keeps losing it but of course she's also more active compared to how she was 6 months ago. So tomorrow we see the Dysphagia clinic at Primary Children's. This is the feeding clinic. We will see the Dr. and nutritionist. I doubt they'll want to take out the tube but we're getting closer and closer. Who knows when it will be but like the feeding therapist said, perhaps within the year!! yay. But we'll let you know of any news that happens tomorrow!

Our neighbor just got this puppy, it's two months old. The kids next door brought it over to show Charlotte and she loved it! She is not afraid of animals and gets so excited to see them. She is so brave for a little girl! And of course really adorable!!

This is the blanket I made for the baby. Charlotte loved playing with it the whole time I was trying to work on it. She was really funny!

Where'd Charlotte go? peek a boo!

Don't look to close!! ha ha. But this is the result. Can't believe we're having a boy but we're so excited!!!

This is one of Charlotte's favorite toys. She likes to push the buttons to make the music go and the spin in a circle until the music stops. And of course repeats this over and over. It's really cute to see her do it.

You can't tell in this picture but she's lining the magnets in a row. For some reason she loves to line them up!

I love this picture! She looks so cute!! Notice the bruise? Poor thing.

Oh Charlotte, last picture I promise!

So I'm going crazy with the blogging posts. Figured, I actually took some pictures and might as well get it all done. Maybe I'll be better at posting them when I actually take them! Ha ha. This is a bruise that Charlotte got. Had to show you. This picture is when it was a week old.
It all started two weeks ago (the day after Easter), she woke up monday morning and when I looked at her arm the bruise was a more distinct circle and it looked like there was an "x" impression on it as well. She has a huge lump that the dr. says is a hematoma. We had gone to the dr. the next day because it was worse and we were very concerned about it. Funny how it became more and more ugly as time went on. She still has it but it's starting to fade and the lump is finally getting smaller. The dr. says it will be there for a month or so. We have NO idea how she got it. We thought maybe the day before she was stepped on with a toy or something at nursery but the nursery workers said they don't remember anything happening or Charlotte crying. She doesn't cry or anything if you touch it so it seems to not bother her too much. I just feel so bad for her!! It looks like she had a lot of trauma to her arm for a bruise to be that bad. I wish I knew what had happened but she's not in pain so that's the most important part. She just has a nasty bruise to show off.

This is the last of the Easter egg hunt pictures. I can't put more than 4 pictures on a post for some reason. Maybe I'm just not too bloggy savvy. Oh well. Notice the snow? It's gone now!! Thank goodness. But it was fun when we had it. Who knew they could hide Easter eggs in a snow bank.

Easter egg hunt that evening. Some friends came over and had an Easter dinner with us and afterwards we had an Easter egg hunt with them. Charlotte had a good time finding the eggs with Dad!
