Jack and the pantry

I found Jack doing this the other day. I was preparing food by the sink and I heard this "aa-pee" and I look at the pantry where he was playing and I didn't find him! I started laughing and grabbed the camera and found him doing this:

It's so much darker on the blog. On my camera you can totally see Jack's face asking for help! Oh well. It's still cute.

Carbon monoxide poisoning

Well, some of you don't know what has happened to us! Here's the background: When Charlotte hit her head on the tile after falling down the stairs thus resulting in two awful black eyes, we decided to get rid of the tile. Now the tile isn't just a few at the bottom. It's a whole room full of tile. Pain in the bum. Waste of space and just a waste of money. So annoying. So Wade had to chip out 200+ tiles and then the mortar underneath had to go. The chipping didn't work very well so we rented a concrete surface grinder. We made sure all the windows were open (we've got some big windows) and a huge fan blowing. Wade also put plastic at the bottom of the stairs to prevent the dust, etc. from going upstairs. The surface grinder isn't electric it has a motor like a lawn mower. Gas powered. I was worried about CO poisoning but we were thinking with the windows, etc. it would be okay. Sound ridiculous when you explain it! The job took Wade 5 hours to do. He started after Jack went to bed and took a few breaks to get a break and some better air. I went to bed feeling a bit ill but didn't think anything of it. I could smell some light fumes but thought I'd be fine. Wade came to bed at 1am and couldn't fall asleep. And then he said he had this huge headache. During the night he was violently throwing up and finally he woke me up at 5am telling me he thinks he has CO poisoning. He researched the symptoms on the internet during the night. And I was like GO to the ER. And he's like no, it's money. And I couldn't seem to convince him. So I said next time you are throwing up you are going and he agreed. 5 minutes later he's like, I'm going. I was happy. I had woken up with a headache too but I didn't think anything of it too. So Wade went and told me every once in awhile what was going on. They kept testing his blood but couldn't get results due to blood clotting so about 30 min. after he got admitted his blood had 16% carbon monoxide. Normal is between 0-2%. So they made me and the kids get out of the house. So I went to some good friends, the Susmans, and hung out there. After the kids were settled, I wanted to see Wade so I went to the hospital. He was on oxygen and lying on the bed. Usually it's me or the kids in the hospital but it was different seeing Wade as the patient. The dr. came in and asked how I was. I just said I had a headache and he's like that's a major sign of CO poisoning and it was up to me to be tested. I didn't want to be cause it was too expensive, etc. but they found out I was pregnant and I didn't have a choice after that. They just said come in this next room. And then I was hooked up on oxygen. They checked the baby's heartbeat to see if he/she was okay and everything was fine! I was tested at 7% so I didn't have it as bad as Wade. They told us the kids need to be tested. So finally after Wade being on oxygen for 5 hours he was able to go home. It was a mandatory 4 hours on the oxygen so I had a couple more hours to go. SO BORING! But the kids came in and were tested in the normal range. So they were totally fine. Which is a relief but I'm not looking forward to this huge bill coming. We decided to take it easy because it really wore us out to have CO poisoning. We had slight headaches the whole day and the next day we were just exhausted but had energy to celebrate Charlotte's birthday!!! I'm glad I didn't follow through with a friend birthday party for Charlotte cause I would have had to cancel it cause it would have been on that saturday! ha ha. But yeah, there's the story. It's kinda long but we are fine and good now. Oh and the floor looks fantastic! We get the carpet Tuesday so hopefully everything, minus the poisoning, will be worth it! :D

Little Jack

With all the attention on Charlotte in the next couple of posts, I'd thought I'd share a few things Jack does that is really funny to me.
1. He LOVES blankets and stuffed animals. He starts to cuddle then and then he gets this giddy laugh that makes him sound like a horse. It is SO CUTE.
2. He likes to hold is right hand and say "ow ow" (which has really morphed in to "beow") and pretend he's got an owie. He always holds his head and does the same thing and once you give him a kiss, he's all better for a few seconds and does it over again.
3. Jack likes to open and close doors. He will open his bedroom door and then get behind it and peek out the side. If you start coming he laughs and the closes the door and waits a few seconds to open it again. Does it over and over again. So cute.
4. He LOVES cats. Of course not up close. But pictures of cats or the Halloween cats we have he looks at them says "beow beow" for meow.
5. He loves to say "aw-pee" for help me. So I run to where he is to help him turn a book page or whatever he wants.
6. Wade taught Jack to say aaahhh after taking a sip of milk (like what you do after sipping pop) so the other night Wade was feeding Jack some milk before bed. His eyes were closed, drinking away and then all of a sudden with his eyes STILL closed he lets out this aaaahhhh. Wade said it was SOOO funny!!!
Jack is such a joy to have around. He's quite the character. He's so CURIOUS. Seriously. I think I'm going to go nuts but he's such a good natured little guy. He's mastering the walking. He can walk longer distances before falling down and he's getting better and better each day.

Birthday pictures at the temple and across the street.

I wished her face wasn't so washed out but I seriously LOVE this picture.

More of Charlotte's birthday!

When we woke up early Sunday morning I wanted to keep the lights off til we reached the living room because Wade was asleep and I didn't want Charlotte to get into her presents until he was awake. But even in the pitch black Charlotte knew instantly there were presents and fun things and she stopped and smiled and pointed and ran first to the chalk board! It was really neat to see her like that. So I turned on the lights and let her go at the chalkboard. She drew on it for hours!!

Opening presents time!!! Charlotte, of course, knew what to do!

She LOVES Toy Story and we splurged *gulp* on a Woody doll.

Outfit from Grandma Chandler!

Charlotte is helping Dad with the Roast dinner. She loves to help cook.

Oh Jack, he is just so cute. I love him!!!

Here, Charlotte is showing off her new silverware set from Ma! She of course couldn't eat dinner the next night without it or the night after. She just loves it!

We had a great birthday on Sunday. Charlotte first woke up and saw the presents. She immediately played with the chalkboard and loved it. After Dad woke up, we made waffles for breakfast. She loved stirring the batter for me. Then we opened presents! She got a book and silverware (cutlery) set from Ma and Grandpa Ardern, an outfit and Disney princess purse from Grandma and Grandpa Chandler, a Woody doll, a Disney princess camera, and Disney Aurora small doll dress up set and some finger ring stamps. We had stake conference that day but due to the carbon monoxide poisoning fiasco the day before we were still recovering from that and so we stayed home. I know, heathens! ha ha. No, it was pretty awful to recover from and I didn't have it as bad as Wade. Not fun to get. Don't recommend it. It was just a nice day with no pressures from anywhere. It was just US. A perfect day. Anywho. We had lunch and after lunch decided to go on a drive up to the Logan temple. We walked around and took pictures and of course walked across the street where all the leaves had fallen. Hence the header picture! I love love love the house across the street from the temple so it was perfect to take pictures. Anywho, we came home and had a yummy roast dinner and ice cream cake for dessert. Charlotte had a wonderful day. Lots of calls from family and I knew she felt special. Because she doesn't understand too much because of the language barrier (which is getting smaller!!) she knew instantly it was a special day just for her and I couldn't have asked for anything more. She is now my big four year old. Amazing what we've been through these last four years and see where she is NOW. WOW.

Birthday Cake!

She's so cute!! I love this face! : D

I don't know how she knew to blow out the candles without us telling her to but she did!
She did so well I was trying to get a picture of her actually blowing it before they went out but I couldn't!
Ice cream cake!

Charlotte liked the M&M's the best.

Jack enjoyed it too!

Since all my cake decorating things were hard to get to because of what's happening in the basement I went for the staple, easy but delicious ice cream cake! Chocolate cake with vanilla ice-cream that was stacked. The "frosting" was cool whip. It's freakin' good stuff. And Charlotte, Jack and Wade loved it. The M&Ms were melting on the cool whip when I put them on but that didn't matter. Candy is candy! (FYI, I'm going to slowly post Charlotte's b-day stuff since our mouse is being tarded and frustrating! ha ha. so you get to see the cake first!)

Here's Charlotte and Josh together. He pulled her along to play soccer. Ha ha. It was funny. i took another video Charlotte after and he took off without her and Charlotte did not like that so she followed him with her arm out until he grabbed it again!

Charlotte, the flirt.

Charlotte had her last soccer game on Thursday. So we had team photos taken afterwards. You can see Charlotte with her arm wrapped around Josh's arm. He actually is in our ward. She seriously goes up to Josh and gives him hugs and kisses and holds his hand. She also did it with another boy (he's the blurry one) and he didn't like it at first but got used to it. Josh, on the other hand, loved the attention. It was really funny and cute but I was like, hold on Charlotte...you're a bit to young to be so flirty! ha ha

This was the last picture taken, when she finally "got Josh!!"

The happy couple.

Charlotte looking for Josh.

Charlotte needing to go potty??? ha ha. Yes, we're potty training her. It's really hard.

Charlotte about to go and kick the ball!

Yeah, I know these pictures are in the wrong order but blogger is annoying with the posting of photos and now I can't rearrange them like I used to. What's up with that? ha ha

Jack is loving getting under and into things! Like his car walker. He loves it but when he can't get out he has a cow! ha ha. SO CUTE!

Yep, what you see is true! I emailed all my family and was too excited to hear back from them so I just want to tell the rest of you! I'm due April 24th and almost 11 weeks along. I've fibbed *gulp*to a couple people but I have my reasons why. But yeah, we are so excited! I can't wait to be over this morning sickness. Gonna make it! Gonna make it!!!
